Is it just me or is body armor conspicuously absent from the so-called "self-defense" debate?
Before you start your rant, I got nothing against guns. Hell, I own one myself.
But even if you and the criminal both have guns, if the criminal has a decent Type IIIA covering his ass, you're pretty much screwed.
Either the gun lobby is pretty powerful or the body armor lobby is non-existent. I'm assuming both.
1. I'm not aware of any "self-defense debate." There is a general gun debate, but it is never presented as a self defense debate (though it probably should be).
2. I'd buy and wear body armor if I thought there was any chance that someone was going to be shooting at me. But I'm 4x as likely to be killed in a car accident; yet I continue driving.
3. Armor rarely covers the head, neck or legs. Hits to any of those puts someone down immediately.
