How I can help the nearby river / nature area?
In my town there are two rivers that beyond us, and incredibly beautiful down there! His isolated and hidden in secret and I'll walk through the sand at water's edge. I even ride the bike path next to him, naming the many meeting places for fun and try to help as best we can. It is, I do not know how I can help! There are always losers littering everywhere, starting trees and plants, and cigarettes left on the floor. I know that all the animals end up hurting themselves above all else (including the hundreds of pieces broken glass). I really care about the places I find, and really want to make a difference there. Any ideas?
When I started enjoying the outdoor (50 years ago), there was a simple and basic theme you use. it was "always leave the area better (cleaner) than you found it." Do you visit this area with friends? If every time you visit, every one of you a small bag filled with trash, there would Lotsa "cleansing" will on.Use gloves, and maybe a cat litter scoop (for glass sand deposit areas.) Once a year in cleaning up Earth Day are useful, but continuous efforts over round is better.
